Who the British Fires Hinton Electric Stove suits best
The Hinton is for the room that wants a traditional stove without the flue: real cast iron, classic proportions and the Deluxe Real Logs bed glowing behind the glass. Period living rooms, cottages and anywhere a modern cube would jar are its natural home, and it can sit recessed into an existing fireplace or freestanding.
From the survey
Installation notes for the British Fires Hinton Electric Stove
Two ways to place it: freestanding on the hearth of an existing fireplace, the five-minute option, or recessed into the opening for the built-in look, which we measure and make good properly. It runs from a standard 13 amp supply, so in most rooms there is no electrical work at all.
An honest steer
How it compares with similar models
The Cube is its modern opposite; the Ashurst and Bramshaw are lighter-weight contemporary alternatives with 2kW heaters. Against a real cast stove like the ACR Oakdale, the Hinton offers the look without the liner, sweep or fuel, the honest trade being flame authenticity for convenience. In an unused fireplace it is often the most sensible answer in the range.
Fitting it locally
Fitting the British Fires Hinton Electric Stove in Yorkshire homes
Made for the corridor: a cast iron stove shape in a period fireplace is the most Yorkshire look there is, and the Hinton delivers it in bedrooms, second receptions and rentals where a real woodburner is impractical. No smoke control questions, no sweep, no certificate needed.

Common questions
British Fires Hinton Electric Stove FAQs
Is the British Fires Hinton real cast iron?
Yes, the body is genuine cast iron, which is where its authentic weight and detail come from. The fire inside is LED with the hand-finished Deluxe Real Logs bed.
Can the Hinton sit in my existing fireplace?
Yes, either freestanding on the hearth, which needs no building work at all, or recessed into the opening for the fitted look. We advise which suits your fireplace on the survey.
Does the Hinton need an electrician?
Usually not: it runs from a standard 13 amp socket. If you want the cable concealed or a new spur in the fireplace, we arrange a qualified electrician as part of the job.
Why choose the Hinton over a real woodburner?
Convenience and constraints: no liner, no sweeping, no fuel store, and it works where a flue route is impossible. If your chimney is sound and you want real flames, we will say so, and quote the woodburner too.
