Chimney swept first
Before any work begins we arrange for the chimney to be professionally swept. It clears soot, tar and any bird nests, keeps the mess out of your room, and lets us inspect the flue properly before your new stove goes in.

Installation
From the first home survey to the final HETAS certificate, here is exactly how we supply and install your stove or fireplace. We explain what is included at every stage, how your quotation is put together and what to expect throughout. No guesswork, no hidden extras and no sales pressure, just a straightforward process from start to finish.
A studio approach
We carefully review every enquiry to make sure we can deliver the right outcome for your home. If needed, we will contact you to discuss your project in more detail before moving forward, so we fully understand what you are looking for.
We then arrange a home survey at a time that suits you, to talk through your new stove, fireplace or feature wall in the comfort of your own home. During the visit we bring samples, digital brochures and examples of previous installations, all presented clearly and without pressure, jargon or fuss.
Carl Finnell and the team then carry out the installation to a high standard, with full HETAS registration, so all work complies with UK safety regulations and meets the requirements of your home insurance. The result is never rushed, just carefully considered, a focal point designed for your home and made for you and your family to enjoy for years to come.
From survey to finished installation
Send us a few details: your name, telephone number, postcode and the type of stove, fire or fireplace you have in mind.
We will be in touch to discuss your project and arrange a home visit at a time that suits you.
We provide a detailed, no-obligation quotation for your consideration.
Your sales order is raised and emailed to you with a deposit request.
Once the deposit is paid, we arrange the installation at a convenient time to suit you.
Carl completes every aspect of the work himself, with care, precision and attention to detail.
When the work is done we invite you to inspect it and check you are happy with every detail. We then register the installation with HETAS, and your certificate of compliance arrives within a few weeks for your records.
Once your installation is complete and you are completely happy with the finished result, we invite you to leave a review. Your feedback helps other homeowners choose a trusted installer and lets us know we have delivered the standard of workmanship and service we promise.

What the price covers
We are confident that the care we take, from your first enquiry to the final installation, will leave you with a fireplace you will enjoy for many years to come.
Safety, built in
Before any work begins we arrange for the chimney to be professionally swept. It clears soot, tar and any bird nests, keeps the mess out of your room, and lets us inspect the flue properly before your new stove goes in.
Building Regulations require a carbon monoxide alarm for any solid fuel appliance, so we fit one as standard. It sits high on the wall, at least 150mm from the ceiling and between 1 and 3 metres from the stove, with a sealed ten-year battery so there is nothing for you to maintain.
HETAS registered
Carl self-certifies every installation and notifies Building Control on your behalf, so the work is signed off properly and your certificate of compliance is issued for your records.
Cost and common questions
There is no single figure because it depends on the stove, whether the chimney needs lining or a twin-wall flue is required, and the hearth and chamber work involved. The honest answer comes after the survey, as one written quote with everything in it. That way you can compare like for like.
Yes. Where there is no chimney we fit a twin-wall insulated flue, either internally up through the roof or up an external wall. We confirm the best route on the survey.
A solid-fuel installation has to meet building regulations. Because Carl is HETAS registered, he self-certifies the work and notifies building control for you, so you are covered without applying separately. It also means the work meets the requirements of your home insurance.
A straightforward stove fit is often a day or two. Fireplace building, lining a difficult chimney or forming a new flue route can take longer. You will know the timescale before work starts.
We cover York, Malton, Helmsley, Pickering, Thirsk, Selby, Driffield and across Yorkshire. If you are just outside, ask us on the survey request and we will let you know.
