The flame, without the flue
Not every room is suited to a wood burning stove, and not every homeowner wants the upkeep. Flats without chimneys, modern highly insulated homes, open-plan rooms and rental properties can all be ideal for an electric fire. Today's premium models offer a highly realistic flame effect with very little maintenance.
We supply and install the Fire FX range from Stovax and Gazco, along with the New Forest range from British Fires, both renowned for their contemporary design and realistic flame effects. During your home survey, we guide you through the options, then Carl fits the fire into an existing fireplace or builds a bespoke media wall with a clean, built-in finish.

Common questions
Electric fires, answered plainly
What is Fire FX?
Fire FX is the contemporary electric fire range from Stovax and Gazco. The collection includes inset electric fires and media wall models with realistic flame effects, offering an attractive alternative where a wood burning stove is not practical. Carl supplies and installs the range as part of a complete design and fitting service.
Can an electric fire be used in a media wall?
Yes. Inset and media-wall electric fires are designed for exactly that. They create a sleek, built-in focal point for modern living spaces, without the need for a flue or chimney, and can usually be installed with very little disruption.
Can you fit a TV above a wide electric fire?
Yes. During your initial enquiry, whether by phone, email or at your home survey, we will discuss the size of your TV and recommend an electric fire that complements it, or work the other way around if you have already chosen your fire. By planning both together, we can achieve balanced proportions, a comfortable viewing height and a clean, built-in finish that works beautifully as the focal point of your room.
Will an electric fire provide heat?
Yes. The electric fires we supply produce up to 2kW of convected warm air, providing a useful boost of heat and making them ideal for taking the chill off a room. However, they are generally best thought of as a secondary heat source rather than the primary way to heat a larger living space. Their main appeal is the realistic flame effect and the atmosphere they create, with the added benefit of instant, controllable warmth whenever you need it.
