Is it right for you?
Who the British Fires New Forest 1600 Inset Electric Fire suits best
The New Forest 1600 is the media wall fire for larger rooms and larger screens: 1600mm of flame beneath a 65 inch television keeps the wall in proportion, and in an open-plan space the longer fire picture reads properly from a distance. It is the width where the fire becomes the anchor of the room rather than an accessory to the TV.
From the survey
Installation notes for the British Fires New Forest 1600 Inset Electric Fire
The 300mm recess and concealed spur are as per the range; what changes at this width is the setting out. We design the whole wall, fire, TV recess, panelling and any shelving, around the fire centreline, and at 1600mm the stud positions are confirmed before boarding. Two and three sided formats are available and specified before the build.
An honest steer
How it compares with similar models
The 1200 suits more modest walls and budgets; the 1900 adds another 325mm for larger walls still. Against the Fire FX Atmos 165R, the New Forest costs more and gives more: deeper box, real-log bed options, multi-sided formats. The honest question is wall width and budget, and we tape the sizes on your wall during the survey.
Fitting it locally
Fitting the British Fires New Forest 1600 Inset Electric Fire in Yorkshire homes
The 1600 suits the bigger family rooms and extensions we build walls for around Harrogate, north Leeds and the villages, where the room carries a 65 inch screen and the wall wants a fire of equal confidence beneath it.

Common questions
British Fires New Forest 1600 Inset Electric Fire FAQs
What size TV goes with the New Forest 1600?
A 65 inch screen is the natural partner: the fire stays a little wider than the TV, which is the proportion that looks designed rather than assembled.
Do I need a bigger heater with a bigger fire?
The whole New Forest range carries the same 1.5kW heater regardless of width, because the fire is a focal point and gentle warmth, not a heating system. The width buys flame, not kilowatts.
Can the 1600 wrap a corner?
Yes, two and three sided formats are available. Wrapped formats change the wall build considerably, so the format is fixed at order and the joinery follows it.
Is the New Forest 1600 expensive to run?
The LED flame effect uses very little power, so most of the year it costs pennies to enjoy. The 1.5kW heater, used when you want warmth, costs the same to run as any 1.5kW heater.
