Who the Fire FX Atmos 135R Electric Fire suits best
The Atmos 135R is the family all-rounder and the width we fit most often. At 1350mm it balances a 50 to 55 inch television nicely, suits the typical Yorkshire living room wall, and leaves room either side for the media wall to breathe. If you are unsure which Atmos to choose, this is the one to measure against first.
From the survey
Installation notes for the Fire FX Atmos 135R Electric Fire
The 140mm depth means a standard stud build carries it, and we design the media wall as one piece: fire recess, TV recess or bracket above, shelving or panelling around, and the fused spur run neatly inside the wall. Symmetry matters at this width, so we set out the wall around the centreline of the fire.
An honest steer
How it compares with similar models
One width down, the 105R suits smaller walls and costs a little less; one width up, the 165R adds 300mm of flame and starts to demand a bigger room. All four models share the same 450mm height, 140mm depth, 1.5kW heater and controls, so nothing changes but the width of the view. Match the fire to the TV and the wall, not to the biggest number.
Fitting it locally
Fitting the Fire FX Atmos 135R Electric Fire in Yorkshire homes
The 135R is our default proposal for the media walls we build in the family homes of Wakefield, north Leeds and the estates around York: wide enough to look generous under a mid-size TV, without forcing furniture out of a normal-sized room. No flue and no smoke control rules to consider.

Common questions
Fire FX Atmos 135R Electric Fire FAQs
What TV size pairs best with the Atmos 135R?
Around 50 to 55 inches. The fire is a little wider than the screen, which is the proportion that looks right on a media wall. For a 65 inch TV we would usually step up to the 165R.
How deep does the media wall need to be for the 135R?
The fire itself is only 140mm deep, so a standard stud wall build accommodates it. We design the whole wall on the survey, including the TV recess and cable routes, so everything is planned before a single batten goes up.
Can the flames run without the heating?
Yes. The flame and ember visuals run independently of the 1.5kW heater, so the fire works as a focal point all year, with a 7-day timer and auto shutdown built in.
Is the Atmos 135R hard-wired or plugged in?
It is normally connected to a fused spur concealed in the media wall, with the electrical connection made by a qualified electrician where needed. That keeps the installation clean, with no visible cables.
