Who the Fire FX Atmos 165R Electric Fire suits best
The Atmos 165R is for the bigger living room and the bigger television. At 1650mm wide it balances a 65 inch screen, and in an open-plan space it gives the fire enough scale to read from across the room. This is the width where a media wall stops being a TV wall with a fire in it and becomes the room feature.
From the survey
Installation notes for the Fire FX Atmos 165R Electric Fire
Same slim 140mm depth as the rest of the family, so the build stays within a standard stud wall. At this width we pay extra attention to the wall setting-out: the fire wants clear space either side, and the TV above should sit within the fire width for the proportions to work. Fused spur, qualified electrician where needed, everything concealed.

How it compares with similar models
The 135R suits mid-size rooms and TVs; the 195R adds another 300mm for the full statement wall. Mechanically all four are identical, 1.5kW heat, same controls, same 450mm height, so the decision is purely visual balance between the room, the wall and the screen. We mark the widths out on your wall during the survey so you can see it at full size.
Fitting it locally
Fitting the Fire FX Atmos 165R Electric Fire in Yorkshire homes
The 165R suits the knocked-through living-diners and larger family rooms we work on across the corridor, and it is a strong choice for extensions where the media wall is designed in from the start. Electric means no flue, so the wall can go anywhere in the plan.

Common questions
Fire FX Atmos 165R Electric Fire FAQs
Is the Atmos 165R too wide for my room?
The test is the wall, not the room size alone. The 165R wants a clear wall around two metres wide or more to breathe. On the survey we mark the actual width on your wall with tape, which settles the question instantly.
What TV works with the 165R?
A 65 inch screen sits beautifully within its 1650mm width. Bigger screens still work provided the TV is no wider than the fire, which is the proportion rule we design to.
Does a wider Atmos give more heat?
No, all four widths carry the same 1.5kW heater. The width buys a longer flame picture, not more warmth, so choose the size that suits the wall and treat the heater as comfort rather than heating.
Can the 165R be fitted two or three sided?
The Atmos range is designed for flat, front-facing installation. If you want the fire visible from two or three sides of a wall or peninsula, we would point you to the British Fires New Forest range, which offers those formats.
