Installation notes for the Waddington Limestone Fireplace

To complement the limestone, the fireplace is paired with an Antique Leather black granite hearth. This premium granite is an ideal choice for solid fuel and wood burning appliances, as its textured finish helps disguise marks from ash, soot and anthracite debris during refuelling. Exceptionally durable and easy to maintain, it can be simply wiped clean to retain its distinctive appearance, providing both practicality and lasting elegance.
The Waddington fireplace is shown with internal chamber border slips in Antique Leather black granite. Border slips are an ideal solution when installing a fireplace within a narrower chimney breast, allowing the chamber opening to be reduced without compromising the overall proportions of the surround. What are the border slips for on the Waddington?
They narrow the chamber opening where the chimney breast is tighter than the surround, without changing the proportions of the fireplace. They also frame the opening in contrasting granite, which pulls your eye towards the flames.
Can I have the border slips in limestone instead?
Yes. They are shown in Antique Leather black granite but are also available in matching Scala limestone if you prefer the frame to disappear rather than contrast.
What is the walnut dark ceramic chamber?
It is the dark ceramic chamber finish shown behind the stove in the photograph. It is not included in the fireplace price, and alternatives including brick, slate and painted Glasroc are available.
