Installation notes for the Deco Step Back (Ziggurat) Limestone Fireplace
The hearth is shown in natural and matching Scala limestone which must be sealed when used with a wood or multi-fuel stove.
To complement the limestone, the fireplace can be paired with an Antique Leather black granite hearth. This premium granite is particularly well suited to solid fuel and wood burning appliances, as its textured finish helps disguise marks from ash, soot and anthracite debris during refuelling. It is also exceptionally durable and can be easily wiped clean, maintaining its original appearance for years to come.
Every fireplace is handcrafted to order and manufactured to your exact requirements. Whether you are renovating an existing fireplace or creating a completely new focal point, the bespoke made-to-measure service ensures a perfect fit and an exceptional finish.
Each fireplace is individually crafted to complement your home, combining timeless design with outstanding workmanship for a truly bespoke installation.
Common questions
Deco Step Back (Ziggurat) Limestone Fireplace FAQs
Why is it called the Ziggurat?
A ziggurat is the ancient stepped tower form, and the fireplace uses the same stepped back profile. It is pronounced zi-guh-rat. It is the stepped back sibling of our Deco Step.
Does the limestone hearth need sealing?
Yes. If you have the matching Scala limestone hearth with a wood or multi-fuel stove it must be sealed, or ash and soot will mark the stone. An Antique Leather granite hearth avoids the issue.
How is this different from the Deco Step?
The Deco Step steps forward, the Deco Step Back steps back into the wall. The Deco Step Back is also slightly lower at 1120mm high against 1250mm, with both at 1380mm wide.
