Why split face

Texture, depth and shadow

Split face chambers give the fireplace opening a stronger stone texture than a smooth panel. The staggered surface catches light from the stove and creates depth around the appliance, while the non-combustible construction keeps the chamber suitable for a proper stove installation.

Oyster keeps the chamber warm and natural, Black creates a darker architectural backdrop, Grey keeps the opening lighter, and Olive Waterfall adds a warmer layered slate effect.

Common questions

Split face chambers, answered plainly

Are split face chambers suitable behind a stove?

Yes. The split face stone effect chambers are non-combustible and installed with the correct backing materials, adhesives and stove clearances as part of the full fireplace build.

Can a split face chamber be made to measure?

Yes. The Staggered chambers have a standard size, but they can also be made to measure where the opening, hearth or stove needs different proportions.

How do I choose the right colour?

We look at the room, hearth, surround and stove on the home survey. Oyster is warm and natural, Black is dark and dramatic, Grey is lighter and contemporary, and Olive Waterfall has warmer slate and green undertones.
