Who the Fire FX Atlas 3 Wood Burning Stove suits best
The Atlas 3 is the flagship of the family, the tallest of the three with an extended black glass front that reads as a single architectural line. It belongs in double-height spaces, big barn conversions and contemporary builds where a standard stove would look lost. Convected heat, concealed log storage and the same panoramic view as the Atlas 2 complete the package.
From the survey
Installation notes for the Fire FX Atlas 3 Wood Burning Stove
At 1119mm tall and 111kg this is a stove we position carefully: floor loading, hearth size and the 150mm flue route all get checked on the survey. In a tall space we often run the twin-wall flue full height as a deliberate feature. The external air connection means the installation can be room-sealed where the building needs it.
An honest steer
How it compares with similar models
The step up from the Atlas 2 buys 100mm more height and the extended glass, nothing more mechanical: output and efficiency match the 2. So the choice is proportion. In a room with generous ceiling height the 3 looks superb; in a standard-height room the 2 usually sits better. We advise honestly on the survey, because the right height matters more than the bigger number.
Fitting it locally
Fitting the Fire FX Atlas 3 Wood Burning Stove in Yorkshire homes
DEFRA exempt and Ecodesign compliant. We suggest the Atlas 3 for the double-height hallways, vaulted barn conversions and new architectural builds we see across the corridor, where the stove has the vertical space to be the centrepiece it was designed to be.

Common questions
Fire FX Atlas 3 Wood Burning Stove FAQs
Is the Atlas 3 too big for a normal living room?
Often, honestly, yes. At 1119mm tall it is designed for rooms with generous ceiling height where the proportions work. In a standard room the Atlas 2 usually looks better. We advise on this on the survey rather than selling the bigger stove.
Does the Atlas 3 heat differently to other stoves?
It uses convected heat alongside radiant warmth, moving warm air into the room, which suits the larger, taller spaces it is designed for. Output runs up to 6.2kW with 82% efficiency.
What does the Atlas 3 weigh and does the floor need checking?
It weighs 111kg, so on suspended timber floors we check the floor structure and hearth build-up on the survey. It is a routine check and rarely a barrier, but it is exactly the kind of detail that should be settled before ordering.
Can the flue be a visible feature with the Atlas 3?
Yes, and it usually should be. In tall spaces we run the twin-wall flue full height above the stove as a clean vertical line, which suits the architectural character of the Atlas range.
